Just a heads up that our good mates the SA Wind Surfing Assosciation are holding their State Wave Titles down at Day St, Middleton in the next few weekends (when weather permits).

Please all do them the courtesy they did us and find somewhere else to kite that weekend. we'll repost when the date is finalized.

its on again folks. The SAKSA Freestyle Kiteboarding State Titles hit Grange Sailing Club on the 15/16th January. Whether you’re a pro or an amateur, sign up, get a t-shirt, have a go and watch the best in the state fight it out for a place in the nationals and the title of State Champion.

This year sees some stiff competition at the top end. Reigning State Champ, Ben Winding will fight it out against some gunn Local and West Coast riders like Martyn Bone and Jordan Grimes. This promises to be the best action on the water that kiting has ever seen in Adelaide!
9am for briefing/signup for a 12noon kickoff, wind permitting.
There’ll be tunes, laughs, commentary by the odd couple (Jordan and Johnny), loads of gear to check out as well as a sweet spread put on by the Grange Sailing Club with an open bar upstairs!
Miss it and you’ll be sorry!

11th of December at the Grange Sailing Club will see the inaugural SAKSA charity day. We would love to bring not only the kiting community together but also the Stand up Paddlers and the windsurfers, the more the merrier !

Kicking off with entries at 10am the Stand up crew will head off at 10.30am for a downwinder to the Chicken Shop. We are hoping to have hire boards available for those who don't have their own. Prizes for 1st in mens, womens and juniors but more importantly the big prizes are for best dressed and best dismount. From Chicken shop we will be organising some trailers and cars to shuttle everyone and their boards back to the sailing club.

A bbq lunch for all entrants will be provided at the sailing club- during this time there will be some beach games as well to keep everyone busy (beach cricket, volleyball and a round robin tug of war- maybe even some SUP relays)

Once everyone is fed hopefully the breeze will have kicked in and the kiters and windsurfers should get their chance. Windsurfers will see a prize for first place, biggest stack and best dressed, Kiters again get prizes for first place, the best dressed and the hardest wipeout. Once again we will have cars and trailers at Chicken shop to ferry everyone back.

Hopefully all being good we will be wrapping everything up around 5pm. With Christmas so soon entry is a wrapped gift to the value of $10 to be donated to underprivileged children and a $10 minimum donation to the nominated Charity. So for $20 you get a fun day, a bbq lunch and that bit of satisfaction from giving something back- awesome !

With the seabreeze’s not to far away and the water just starting to warm up. SAKSA have decided to throw a BBQ and invite yourself and all the local shops and distributors to come down and display all the new 2011 gear. This is a great social event and a great way to meet fellow kiters. SAKSA reps will be there to answer any questions or if you have any ideas which you think may will help the SA kiting community, we would love to hear them. So on Saturday the 18th September come down to the River Torrens outlet carpark Henley South and join us for a great day.

Members are invited to attend the AGM of SAKSA, to review the activities of the association and vote in the new committee.

Nominations for committee

Office Bearer Nominations to be emailed must be signed by 2 members proposer, seconder  and have the consent of the nominated member with proposed position, and must be delivered to the secretary at least 7 days before the AGM. The Nominations must be sent as an email and emailed to info@saksa.com.au

Please note after the AGM We are  going to combine it with the 2010 State Wave Riding Presso’s and also play a heap of kitesurfing movies all night as well. These nights are always great fun for catching up with all the crew that have spread out over winter. If you are new to kitesurfing or want to meet some like minded crew, make sure you come down. This a family friendly event so don’t hesitate to bring the missus and the groms with ya. The West Beach SLSC will also be providing there legendary snitties for us to have for dinner.
