SA State Wave Titles

Crew its time to get geared up and ready for the 2021 – 2022 CABRINHA & KSA STATE WAVE TITLES!

Thanks to Kiteboarding Australia in partnership with Cabrinha, the KSA State Wave titles is a part of the Cabrinha National Wave Series. This year KSA are changing it up holding the state wave titles in SUMMER.  No more standing on the beach freezing our body parts off, but instead enjoying the sunshine, the wind, a bbq, and presos at Goolwa Beach Surf Club to follow after the event. Everyone is encouraged to participate, and this event has a division to suit all riding abilities. So if you’re comfortable riding in surf conditions, get involved, have a crack and most of all have fun. ITS ALL ABOUT THE STOKE!!!

A massive thanks must go to all the amazing sponsors who have got behind the event again this year.  Everyone will walk away with a sweet prize!

Thanks also to the support of Goolwa Beach Surf Club including volunteer lifesavers and a rescue boat for your safety. KSA will be providing a donation to the surf club in thanks for their support.

This location offers both on and off beach parking, cafe, bathrooms, grass areas and other facilities to make it a great day for competitor’s families and friends.  The Surf Club’s bar will also be open from 3PM to 6PM to the public.

Judging information: This year KSA is trialling a new judging system, using a similar to format to the World Surf League, by using multiple judges and dropping high and low scores. We are also aiming to go electronic to make the process more streamlined and fair. As this competition is a wave riding event, you are judged on your wave selection and your execution of manoeuvers on that wave. More specifically, the rules will follow the National Kitesurfing Series Rule book, which can be found on the KA website https://cdn.revolutionise.com.au/site/jhktyuhcfmho4zd9.pdf

Come and Try: This year, RIDE kiteboarding will have trainer kites on the beach for family and friends looking to give kiting a go. Come and try will occur between 11am and 1pm on both Saturday and Sunday (wind and competition depending).

Presentations: Presentations will be held after the event this year at the Goolwa Beach Surf Club from 6PM. So stick around to see if you win one of the awesome KSA custome-made trophies.  And grab a prize from the table.

So crew bring your family and friends to soak up the sunshine and the salty sea air and they can watch the kickass kiters slashing waves. To everyone thinking of joining the sport, this is a great time to have a look and see what kiting is all about. The crew are friendly and super helpful, and with the BBQ cranked. For further details stay tuned to the KSA facebook group, KSA website or join the State Wave Titles event on the KSA Facebook page.

Bring on the wind and waves!

See you on the water

Cheers, KSA committee
